Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. On October 21, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP under the Dreamville Records label. It was at this point that she first gained notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music to the internet in 2012 after she released her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to post her songs online, including her self-released single Bound. On July 21 2015 Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then was interested in having her work on Rihanna references. On the 8th of December, it was announced that she was signed to Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. She released Pho, her debut album on Oct 21 in 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening act. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox guested on two tracks with EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on the 5th of September. The 9th of November saw her release two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 2013 she dropped No One and Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then released the song in a solo version for her debut album. In February 2019, her music video to this track debuted. It has had over three million YouTube views within a week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK in the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
